Skittles, M&Ms & Zaggoras - what a contradiction

Weekend is here!! This week has flown by as usual, I've made some new Skittles pieces, played about with some resin tunnels and made countless Zingy charms.  My favourite of the week has to be the Skittles cufflinks, I rarely make things suitable for men but thought they deserve to have something.

Aside from jewellery I haven't done much this week so not much to post about.  I'm still saving for my holiday so haven't splurged on any new clothes/ make up.  I have however spent £50 of my hard earned money on a pair of Zaggora Hotpants (Kylie is safe don't worry) and have 3 pairs for you to win, head over to my diet blog for more details.

I am going to carry on with my jewellery making for the day, with short workouts in between.

Enjoy your weekend :)

Inverted Zombie & Zingy Ring

Evening all, a quick post from me as I am typing in between TV programmes (lifers if you wanted to know,  crazy programme)

Had a busy time since my last post and am looking forward to my upcoming holiday to take some time out to relax.  If you have read my diet blog (which I really need to get back into) you will know I have been suffering with tummy/womb type problems for the past year or so, after numerous doctors appointment I have a diagnosis of Endemetriosis and will be going into hospital some time in August for surgery on it.  As I'm a bit dubious about hospital visits I had a weekend of food and drink to take my mind off it :) can't beat a good glass of Rose Blush to help forget your worries.

If anyone is from Manchester, or planning a visit here I would highly recommend Socio Rehab in the Northern Quarter, quirky cocktails that literally blow your head off (the first pic is the Inverted Zombie I had WOW!!!).  Also Cloud 23 in Beetham Tower, this was my second visit there, this time for my best friends sisters hen night, although the red lighting ruins any photo opportunities the view is amazing.

I have managed to do some work inbetween all my social outings, after receiving copious requests for a Zingy ring I made and listed one today.  It was a rushed listing hence why my nails look a state, clay and resin literally make the polish peel away :(  But if you ignore the nails the ring is quite cute and can be bought here

I think that is it for now, but would just like to send all my love out to the people of Shaw who were caught up in the gas explosion that tragically took a life. xxx

What a weekend

This weekend has been crazy and has gone way too fast, since I work for myself I decide to start mine on Friday.  This day kicked off with a bang when I posted a picture on Facebook of a Zingy charm I made for a customer who emailed asking for a keyring, all of a sudden my inbox was full of amazing customers wanting one....fast forward to the end of the weekend and I have sold tonnes of the little guys.  This is my most recent batch of them, if you want to buy one they are now on the site here

My weekend continued by consuming ridiculous amounts of food and alcohol, and now I feel like I need a month to detox to feel healthy again.  My Topshop order also arrived, I hope everyone found the code useful :)  I'm unsure about the Jamaica dress, it shows a LOT of cleavage, and at the ripe old age of 25 I think I may need to cover it a bit.  The parrot dress however covers all the cleavage but exposes the midriff :-/  this picture is slightly blurred and not the best quality but gives the general idea.  I fit in it fine but as my womb problems have left my abdomen swollen I can't tell whether it is too snug or not (and yes I am wearing a Zingy EDF necklace)

Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend and I will finish with a few other pics of what I got up to xx

Poorly Dodge

So today I took my little girl to the vets to check out her poorly ear, turns out  she has an infection.  After all that saving and not spending (**Topshop splurge doesn't count**) I'm going to have to fork out a fortune to have her sedated and the ear flushed out if it doesn't clear up with drops.  ARGHHHHHH!! She is totally worth it though, anyone who has dogs will understand the love you have for the little things, I would be happy not having children and just having pets.  My perfect brood would include Dodge, a french bulldog and a boston terrier :)

Off the subject of saving was that I found my old Boots card that had £14 of points on it, having wanted an Essie nail polish for forever but always forgetting to buy one I saw them in store so treated myself :)  I was temped to choose a colour I don't already have, but my wardrobe is mainly red, black and grey so decided to stick to what I know and get a red.  But this was made harder by the fact they stock about 10 shades of each colour, decisions decisions! I ended up with 5th Avenue, a corally red but also the name of skanky Manchester nightclub I used to venture to on a weekly basis, I took that as a sign I should try it.  I can't wait to do my nails ready for my night out with the bestie tomorrow, I'm waiting till I've finished jewellery for the day as nothing ruins a manicure like clay and pliers.  And since we have booked in at Cloud 23 (pretentious cocktail bar at the top of Beetham tower where you have to book months in advance for 45 minutes!!!)  I thought chipped nails wouldn't go down too well!

I'm off to give Dodge some cuddles before hiding away in my studio for the rest of the afternoon.  Enjoy the sun whilst it lasts!

I've been naughty

I have so much I need to pay for that I have been desperately trying to be well behaved with money recently.  Where I would normally pay over £100 on a night out, £40 on tea out a few times a week and countless unnecessary bits and pieces I have been on a strict no spend budget.... but I have just broke that.  My Topshop card has been sitting empty for a while so I took the silly plunge of spending on it, but to make myself feel better I needed some new dresses for my holiday.  I also needed a new pair of pumps, as my devil angel dog decided they would make a lovely chew toy.

So what did I buy.....

I actually decided against the red one, I think my boobs would need bigger hearts but how cute is it!
The parrot one has cut outs which I am a bit wary of but hopefully by the time I go to Greece my tummy will be back to being flat (ish)  And the final dress is a Jamaica themed one, again my boobs might be too big for it but might as well give it a try.  If anyone is buying off the Topshop website use this code for 10% discount 1467648016789380, I do have a student card but for some reason the code on it doesn't seem to work.

Finally there is 25% off everything on the site today using code 'DODGE' at checkout, but be quick it expires at midnight.

After a weekend of Uni work I hand it in tomorrow, then all I have to do before I finish for the summer is complete a lamp from my last project :) woo wooo!!

Lots of ideas coming up for the summer,  I have lots of pieces with resin I want to work on, so make sure you keep an eye on the site.  I have just re-listed a koi carp ring and a new goldfish ring too, ironic really because fish are one of my biggest phobias, these little swimmers don't bother me though.

Since I've just booked a holiday to Greece all my money will be going on paying that off, so if anyone wants to treat my to anything from below I would be very grateful (worth a try I guess) If not this is kind of a wish list to work for :) and when you buy something from the site you know what it will be being spent on!!

Friday 8 June 2012

So its Friday night and I'm staying in, **long huffy sigh**  cue blog post with the intention of making everyone feel sorry for me.

I'm going out next week for cocktails with my bestie, to mourn celebrate him turning 26, so as well as needing to pay for a holiday and paying for all other bills that are pouring in at the moment I have taken the executive decision to work instead of play :(

On happier news one of the necklaces I am making for the bestie has turned out pretty well and I have just listed it on the site, love love love all the colours together.  He wanted gifts for 5 people, all the same items but different inners, and I have ended up making a selection of new pieces I like so much I am going to sell in the shop.  Some of the pics are them in the making, so I apologise for the state of my work desk!!

Just another little reminder for anyone who lives near Manchester and is trying to think of things for 10-16 years olds to do during the summer holiday, go have a look at the Ministry Of Craft site where they have a selection of fun workshops, one of which I am tutoring.  Would be perfect for gifts, birthday parties or just a fun day out :)

That's all for now folks, am off to make some more frames and then to complete some Uni sketchbook work!!

Thursday 7 June 2012

Once again I have managed to let time slip away from me and not post in what feels like forever.  I've had quite a lot going on recently, my dad has been in hospital (yep again!!) I've had a project and coursework due in at Uni, my abdomen issues are back and lots of exciting new products have been created.  Phew, I'm tired just thinking about it all!!

I have also done my first workshop at Ministry of Craft, my class was a brief introduction in working with polymer clay and shrink plastic.  I spent the few days before worrying about it, and thinking what the hell I had got myself into but when it came around I had a great time.  I was really pleased to see a varied age range, and luckily had a super friendly and creative bunch.  They all made adorable cake charms bracelets, with some great creative ideas.  The only downside was how hectic it was, I felt exhausted afterwards but am already looking forward to the next few workshops that have been booked!  One of them is aimed at 10-16 year olds during the summer holiday, the other is the full class that completely sold out last time (WOW)

In other news I have booked a holiday to Greece with my best mate so need to get back onto some sort of diet, I have been going to the gym now and then but I eat like a horse (Is that a real saying or have I made it up??)  I can't wait for sun, sea, sand and sleep :)

Think thats all for now, I would like to say I will try and post more but we all know that it probably won't happen, it's a hard life being a busy bee!!!

p.s please go buy something, the site has been updated with lots of new goodies!!
